This year’s UBC Student Leadership Conference is happening on January 10th, 2015 and the theme of the conference is “The Next Step”.
This theme is intended to be action-oriented, inclusive of all students – regardless of their leadership experience so far- and encompasses opportunities for development regardless of how new or experienced you are. To learn more about the theme, check out this video:
I encourage you to get involved with the SLC before the day of the conference – there are several ways to do this including submitting an application to present (either a workshop or a highlighted project), participate in one of the many ongoing programs offered (including a Pecha Kucha Night in November), or contribute to the delegate experience by assisting with the selection of workshops being offered by being part of the Selections Committee.
Here are a few dates to keep in mind:
This Wednesday, October 1st – Ignite Your Leadership Potential, an ongoing program that would be great to invite any enthusiastic first year residents to! Be sure to forward them this link to register.
Next Monday, October 6th –Â Workshop and Highlighted Project applications are due
October 10th – Selections Committee member applications are due
November 19th – Pecha Kucha night, an ongoing program featuring UBC alumni and established community leaders!
